Brandon consults at Tristram Clinic and is a consultant Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon at Waikato DHB. He provides visiting services to the Bay of Plenty.

Brandon can be seen by appointment for a private consultation at the Tristram Clinic in Hamilton or the Da Vinci Clinic in Tauranga.


Brandon completed his full Plastic and Reconstructive surgery training in New Zealand and was awarded FRACS(Plastics) from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

In 2012, Brandon was awarded the ASAPS Advanced Aesthetic Fellowship and undertook a six month Fellowship (apprenticeship) in Cosmetic Surgery at the prestigious New Zealand Institute of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery.

During his fellowship, Brandon gained invaluable knowledge about all aspects of cosmetic surgery.

In 2013, Brandon worked as the Head and Neck Reconstruction and Microosurgery Fellow at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane Australia. During this year Brandon gained extensive experience in facial and head and neck reconstruction and microsurgery. During this fellowship, Brandon frequently performed combined procedures with other surgeons (orthopaedic, general, vascular, ENT, maxillofacial, neurosurgery) to find reconstructive solutions to the most complex surgical problems in Australia's busiest elective surgical hospital.

Excellent qualifications

Brandon qualified in medicine from the University of Otago with an MBChB with a distinction in Surgery and the Dawn Short Prize in Psychiatry. He was the second medical graduate ever to be awarded the Dean's Medal by Professor John Campbell. He was awarded FRACS(Plastics) in 2012 and was awarded the John Corboy Medal from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012.

In addition to his plastic surgery qualifications, Brandon holds an honours degree in physiology from the University of Auckland and a degree in bioethics Otago University. Brandon has a long history of education and has lectured at the University of Auckland, University of Otago and was an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Queensland.

Brandon is an active teacher of trainee plastic surgeons and medical students. He is a faculty member and is a teacher for the Emergency Management of Severe Burns course.

Brandon regularly attends and presents at national and international conferences to ensure he is up to date with the most effective and safe ways to perform plastic surgery operations and optimise outcomes.

Academic credentials

Brandon is academically active and had published more than 20 peer reviewed papers in plastic surgery, physiology, workforce planning and public policy. In addition, he has presented numerous papers at local and international meetings and is listed on GenBank as the principle discoverer of multiple novel intronic genetic sequences of the HLA-B27 gene.
