Honorary Associate Professor Marius Rademaker completed his postgraduate training in dermatology at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, and the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. He worked as a consultant dermatologist for the Glasgow Area Health Board before emigrating to New Zealand in 1991 as Director for Specialty Surgery, Health Waikato.
Marius is an Honorary Associate Professor at Waikato Clinical School (Auckland University School of Medicine). He is a Regional Advisor of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, a Member of the New Zealand Dermatological Society and the International Society of Dermatology amongst others.
Marius completed an MD thesis on the disease Systemic Sclerosis and has sub-specialties in paediatric dermatology (children’s skin problems), occupational dermatology and patch testing. Marius is a Director of the Waikato Skin Research Association at Tristram Clinic. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Australasian Journal of Dermatology. He has published over 200 articles and book chapters in medical literature and regularly lectures at international dermatology conferences.
Marius is an experienced general medical dermatologist with particular interest in the management of inflammatory skin disorders such as acne, eczema and occupational dermatology. His current research interests are the early diagnosis and medical (non-surgical) management of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer.
